Team-focused
Principle / 01Move with intent

Code lives in systems.
Systems live in context.

02 / Selected project

Receipts in.Friendships intact.

Try Splitly

Splitly turns a crumpled receipt and six different memories of dinner into one calm answer: who owes whom, and exactly how much.

The origin story

A weekend trip. Seven friends. Six paying. One person being treated. Several currencies. And one group chat slowly becoming an accounting department.

So I built the tool we actually needed — precise enough for the awkward cents, simple enough to use before the next round arrives.

01 / Capture

Receipt goes brrr.

Upload a photo and local OCR + vision extract the merchant, date, currency, products and total. Everything stays editable, because receipts enjoy chaos.

02 / Split

Math, but social.

Split an item equally or by quantity, let the group cover a friend, and record one bill paid by several people.

03 / Settle

Three transfers. Done.

Every item becomes a detailed personal balance, then Splitly reduces the final payback to the shortest practical list.

03 / About

Technology with context.

I'm Pavel Todorov, a Software Engineer based in Bulgaria with professional experience across Java, Spring Boot, PHP, SQL, and backend application development.

My work has taken me from PHP and database development at Kosser to building and optimizing backend applications in a multinational Scrum team at DXC Technology, and now to my current role at Vivacom. I value clean code, continuous learning, and systems that remain easy to understand and evolve.

  1. 01Reliability first

Build for real conditions, not only the happy path.

  2. 02Communicate clearly

Make decisions, trade-offs, and next steps easy to follow.

  3. 03Leave things better

Document the work and improve the system around it.

04 / Experience
